90% Silver Starter Pack

The 90% Silver Starter Pack is a one-time non-recurring version of our Constitutional Crate. Commonly used by our subscribers as a sort of booster pack or for new customers to try out our products without commiting to a subscription, despite our service being obligation free and one that you can cancel at any time.
This crate offers circulatory United States coins such as dimes, quarters and half dollars that have a silver metal composition of 90%.
Pre-1965 Silver
Prior to 1965 and in accordance with the Section 10, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, coins such as nickels, dimes, quarters and halves were made from a mixture of silver and copper. The silver portion is what was considered the money part and the 10% copper was used to give strength and durability (for long term circulation) as silver in its pure form is malleable and susceptible to damage when handled.
Common 90% silver types at Investor Crate
- Walking Liberty Half Dollar: A design borrowed in the American Silver Eagle the Walking Liberty half dollar was minted over a period of 31 years. Despite the last date of mintage being in 1947, these are still quite common in all 90% Silver Crates.
- Winged Liberty Head Dime: More commonly referred to as a Mercury Dime and with a 29 year mintage run these coins were struck by the United States Mint 2.5 billion times. That means 236,000 of these were minted each day for 29 years.
- Washington Quarter: First strike occurred in 1932 this quarter is still produced to this day, however the silver content was removed in all variants post-1964.
- Roosevelt Dime: Another variant still in production today, the 1946-1964 years contained 2.25 grams of Silver. Remember to check your change and any dimes, quarter and halves that do not have the little copper line on the reeded edge, it's more than likely silver!
- Franklin Half Dollar: Replacing the Walking Liberty, the Benjamin Franklin Half Dollar first strike occurred in 1948 and concluded in 1963. The silver weight of this coin is .36 troy ounces.
- John F Kennedy Half Dollar: For only a single year (1964) JFK half dollars were produced in 90% silver. Not overly rare though because over 400,000,000 were made!

- 1878-1904 & 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar
- 1892-1916 Liberty Head "Barber" Half-Dollar
- 1892-1916 Liberty Head "Barber" Quarter
- 1892-1916 Liberty Head "Barber" Dime
- 1916-1930 Standing Liberty Quarter
- 1921-1928 & 1934-1935 Silver Peace Dollar
Though less common due to lower mintage numbers, age and collectability these are still found in face bags or $1000 face value bags that are traded on the secondary market. We do not sift through or cherry pick and mark up any of these coins as our focus is on speed, efficiency and integrity.
With that said, we do not carry PCGS or NGC graded coins as the mark up is too high and our focus is on getting the customer as much weight as possible with the absolute lowest premium possible.
Modern 90% Silver
As recent as 2005, the U.S. Mint has done short production runs of U.S. quarters that are produced from 90% silver planchets, called their "Silver Quarter" program. Mostly released as proofs and for collectors, a few BU runs have been made. These are rare but sometimes appear inside of our 90% silver crates.
40% Silver
This crated does not contain pre-1933 Gold bullion by the U.S. Mint or any coins struck using 40% silver planchets such as peace dollars and war nickels. We do not carry 40% silver products.
